The old market town of Keswick in the Northern area of the Lake District National Park, is snugly nestled between Derwentwater lake and Skiddaw, the sixth highest mountain in England. The spectacular mountain skyline surrounds the whole town and breathtaking fell scenery is visible in all directions plus there are magnificent views along the Borrowdale valley towards Seatoller with Scaffell pike in the far distance.

Walking, Running and Climbing

There are many amazing fells around Keswick and the Northern Lakes, all with spectacular views:

  • To the North, there is the imposing Skiddaw range.
  • To the East is Blencathra, Clough Head and The Dodds stretching towards the famous Helvellyn range and the Lake District’s very own ski tow!
  • To the West is the stunning Grisedale Pike and fells of the Newlands valley – Coledale’s 15 mile horseshoe walk is one not to be missed taking in Sail and Causey Pike.
  • To the South lies Borrowdale with its amazing fells of varying heights. From here you can see Scafell Pike – the highest mountain in England with a summit of 978 metres.
